Choosing a lamp colour

On a printed lamp the colour isn't only aesthetic — it's the filter the light passes through. The same lamp in two shades gives two different moods.

Pale shades: more light

White, beige and marble pass the most light. The print layers read clearly as a warm, even glow and the lamp lights more of the room. This is the choice if the lamp has to do real work — beside a bed, on a desk, in a reading corner.

Dark shades: more character

Jade green, sage and silk copper pass less light. The glow is softer and dimmer, and it picks out the edge of the form rather than the whole surface — the lamp reads as a sculpture that smoulders. Switched off, a dark lamp is a much more present object in the room and sits well against wood and darker furniture.

If you want a darker shade but still want full brightness, choose an LED bulb with more lumens — the wattage stays inside the 5 W limit, but there's more light. That's the only compromise the darker colours ask for.

A colour of your own

If nothing in the palette suits, we can source it. You describe the colour or send a reference photo — a piece of fabric, a wall, another object — and we confirm the material is available before anything is charged. The option is chosen right on the product page and carries an agreed surcharge.

One note: custom-colour lamps are a final sale, because the material is bought in specifically for that order. So we confirm the colour in writing before printing starts.
